June 2022: A review by Amirah, Suijian, Jieyi, and Masha "Superresolution Imaging of Cytoskeletal Networks in Fixed Brain Tissue” is published in Methods in Molecular Biology.
May 2022: collaborative studies have been published this spring in: Nature Communication, Journal of Clinical Investigation, and Science.
May 2022: Amirah wins the best poster award at the 27th McGill Physiology Gradaute Research Day.

April 2022: Dr. Olena Makashova is joining the lab as a Postdoctoral Fellow, receiving SRFT CIHR postdoctoral fellowship for Ukrainian trainees. Olena completed her PhD in the National Academy of Sciences in Kharkiv, Ukraine.
April 2022 : Susana Puche Saud joins the lab as an undergraduate and soon-to-be a MSc student, receiving graduate entrance award from the Integrated Program in Neuroscience (IPN).
March 2022: Vanessa Josey is awarded an Undergraduate Student Research Award from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). Vanessa is joining the lab for a year-long undergraduate honour’s project.

February 2022: Our book chapter on “Cytoskeletal organization and plasticity in magnocellular neurons" was published in Masterclass in Neuroendocrinology book series.
January 2022: Our paper summarizing collaborative project with the Laboratory of Ruud Buijs, led by Betty has been published in Current Biology.

December 2021: Amirah receives 2021 Dr. Hubert van Tol Travel Fellowship from Brain Canada to attend Canadian Society for Neuroscience meeting (CAN).
October 2021: Banruo and Amirah receive Graduate Research Enhancement and Travel (GREAT) Award to present their work at the American Society for Neuroscience meeting (SFN).
September 2021: 3rd HBI/McGill/Queen’s/McMaster Hypothalamic Control Meeting, Gananoque, Canada, with all the lab presenting.

July 2021: The lab is awarded a CIHR Project grant for 5 years.
June 2021: Suijian receives Graduate Fellowship from the Fonds de Recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).
May 2021: Suijian and Amirah receive first and third places at the Physiology imaging competition.

May 2021: Misha Hubacek joins the lab as a Research Assistant.
April 2021: Masha is featured in the article about Brain Canada’s Future Leaders published in “Mind over Matter” magazine.

March 2021: Work from David, Amirah et al is published in Cell Reports.
December 2020: Research from our lab funded by Brain Canada is highlighted in the “Globe and Mail” magazine.

November 2020: Masha is named an Azrieli Future Leader in Canadian Brain Research from Brain Canada and the Azrieli Foundation.
September 2020: Banruo joins the lab as MSc student.

June 2020: Amirah receives Healthy Brain for Healthy Lives (HBHL) PhD Fellowship.

June 2019: Suijian Zhou receives an Undergraduate Student Research Award from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC).
May 2019: Suleima wins a price for the best poster presentation at the Physiology Graduate Research Day.
May 2019: Amirah has successfully passed her transfer exam and is accepted to fast-track PhD program.

April 2019: Zsuzsanna receives a prestigious Glen Hatton Travel Award to present her work at 13th World Congress on Neurohypophysial Hormones (WCNH) in Ein Gedi, the Dead Sea, Israel.
March 2019: The lab is awarded a grant from McGill/IMRIC/Hebrew University Collaboration in Neurodevelopmental, Neurodegenerative and Neuropsychiatric Diseases.

January 2019: Jeremy Baylou joins lab as a graduate student (Bordeaux International Master of Neurosciences Program).
October 2018: David graduates with MSc.
September 2018: Dr. Zsuzsanna Barad and Graham Lean join the lab as a Postdoctoral Fellow and a Research Assistant, respectively.

August 2018: Amirah and Suleima receive Max E. Binz Fellowship from McGill’s Faculty of Medicine for graduate studies.
June 2018: Suleima receives Graduate Research Enhancement and Travel (GREAT) Award to present her work at 9th International Congress of Neuroendocrinology in Toronto.
April 2018: Amirah receives Pan American Neuroendocrine Society (PANS) Trainee Travel Award to present her work at 9th International Congress of Neuroendocrinology in Toronto.
March 2018: The lab is awarded a grant from FRQ-NT CONACYT for a Québec – Mexico Bilateral collaborative research project with Buijs’ lab (Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico).

January 2018: Melissande Bry joins lab as a graduate student (Bordeaux International Master of Neurosciences Program).
November 2017: Our review about mechanosensitivity of hypothalamic neurons is published in Seminars in Cell & Developmental Biology.
September 2017: Suleima Jacob-Thomas joins the lab as MSc student.

March 2017: Masha is awarded Heart & Stroke National New Investigator Salary Award from Heart & Stroke Foundation of Canada.
February-April 2017: The lab is awarded a CIHR Project grant, NSERC Discovery grant, and CFI (Canadian Foundation for Innovation John R. Evans Leaders Fund) grant.
January 2017: Our laboratory has opened at McGill University, Department of Physiology, 12th floor of the McIntyre medical building, with Jieyi Yang as a Research Assistant and Lab Manager.
