- June 2022: A review by Amirah, Suijian, Jieyi, and Masha "Superresolution Imaging of Cytoskeletal Networks in Fixed Brain Tissue” is published in Methods in Molecular Biology.
- May 2022: collaborative studies have been published this spring in: Nature Communication, Journal of Clinical Investigation, and Science.
- May 2022: Amirah wins the best poster award at the 27th McGill Physiology Gradaute Research Day.
- April 2022: Dr. Olena Makashova is joining the lab as a Postdoctoral Fellow, receiving SRFT CIHR postdoctoral fellowship for Ukrainian trainees. Olena completed her PhD in the National Academy of Sciences in Kharkiv, Ukraine.
- April 2022 : Susana Puche Saud joins the lab as an undergraduate and soon-to-be a MSc student, receiving graduate entrance award from the Integrated Program in Neuroscience (IPN).
- March 2022: Vanessa Josey is awarded an Undergraduate Student Research Award from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC). Vanessa is joining the lab for a year-long undergraduate honour’s project.
- December 2021: Amirah receives 2021 Dr. Hubert van Tol Travel Fellowship from Brain Canada to attend Canadian Society for Neuroscience meeting (CAN).
- October 2021: Banruo and Amirah receive Graduate Research Enhancement and Travel (GREAT) Award to present their work at the American Society for Neuroscience meeting (SFN).
- September 2021: 3rd HBI/McGill/Queen’s/McMaster Hypothalamic Control Meeting, Gananoque, Canada, with all the lab presenting.
- July 2021: The lab is awarded a CIHR Project grant for 5 years.
- June 2021: Suijian receives Graduate Fellowship from the Fonds de Recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).
- May 2021: Suijian and Amirah receive first and third places at the Physiology imaging competition.
- May 2021: Misha Hubacek joins the lab as a Research Assistant.
- April 2021: Masha is featured in the article about Brain Canada’s Future Leaders published in “Mind over Matter” magazine.
- November 2020: Masha is named an Azrieli Future Leader in Canadian Brain Research from Brain Canada and the Azrieli Foundation.

- March 2019: The lab is awarded a grant from McGill/IMRIC/Hebrew University Collaboration in Neurodevelopmental, Neurodegenerative and Neuropsychiatric Diseases.
- January 2019: Jeremy Baylou joins lab as a graduate student (Bordeaux International Master of Neurosciences Program).

- September 2018: Dr. Zsuzsanna Barad and Graham Lean join the lab as a Postdoctoral Fellow and a Research Assistant, respectively.
- August 2018: Amirah and Suleima receive Max E. Binz Fellowship from McGill’s Faculty of Medicine for graduate studies.

- January 2017: Our laboratory has opened at McGill University, Department of Physiology, 12th floor of the McIntyre medical building, with Jieyi Yang as a Research Assistant and Lab Manager.
